Tauqudiret
In the distant past, there was only one string on the dombra, and the divine creature had only one wing. The single wing of the divine creature was attached to the right side of the male and to the left side of the female. The dombra remained silent, not knowing what to do. Meanwhile, the divine creature lamented day and night to Tengri, pleading for a pair of wings that could allow it to soar, calling out "Oh, divine being, oh divine being." One day, the divine creature had a thought, saying, "Instead of lamenting like this, let’s try to strive for life," and it decided to fly together with the female divine creature. One had the right wing, the other had the left wing, and the two divine creatures joined together, spreading their wings wide. At that moment, they lifted off the ground and soared into the sky. The earth spun below them. The two divine creatures were supported by the wind as they joyfully soared in the blue sky. Overjoyed, they could not hide their happiness and expressed their gratitude to Tengri, saying, "Oh, divine being, oh divine being, we are grateful for this!" Later, it is said that Tengri bestowed a pair of wings upon the chicks born from these divine creatures. Upon hearing this story, the dombra player thought, "If the two wings could unite and fly, what if there were two strings on the dombra?" So, he added a second string and tried it out. When he played the dombra with the two strings, a marvelous sound emerged. The joy of the dombra player knew no bounds. He was so pleased that he dedicated his very first melody to the divine creature. He expressed how the divine creature had initially struggled, how it had pleaded to Tengri, "Oh, divine being, oh divine being," and how it had soared into the sky when they joined together through the language of the melody. Indeed, while listening to this melody, the parts that soared seemed to speak as if saying, "Oh, divine being, oh divine being."
