The Bull's Roar (Version III)
Once upon a time, an old couple lived with their daughter in a desolate land where no animals roamed and no birds flew. Their only means of livelihood was a single male camel. One year, due to a drought, the grass of the steppe dried up, and the only camel of the poor family, looking at its owner, died, leaving the old couple in despair. The three of them, like the stars of the Pleiades, were left weak and faced with a dire fate, engulfed in sorrow and grief. One day, an old man and a young man appeared in this area. After the travelers understood their lament, the old man, through the young man beside him, said to the old couple: "If you give your daughter in marriage for a price, I will make the black camel kneel with my dombra right now!"
This statement deepened the sorrow of the unfortunate old couple. They could not bear the thought of giving their daughter to a stranger. The clever girl, sensing her parents' thoughts, said:
- "If fate has decided otherwise, I agree," and made the old man play a tune. Upon hearing the mournful melody from inside the house, the black camel in the steppe stood up. The girl, carrying a bucket from the dishes, signaled to the young man who had come with the old man. When he stepped outside, the black camel indeed knelt. The girl, holding tightly onto the camel's two teats, expressed her heart's secret to the young man with tears in her eyes, asking for his help. Realizing that his heart was aflame with hope for her, the young man quickly entered the house and played a sorrowful, melancholic tune that was the key to the girl's heart. At that moment, milk flowed from her bucket like a spring. The girl's tears also flowed endlessly. At this moment, the old couple, pleased, gave their blessing to the girl to marry the young man. The tune played by the young man, which made the camel kneel, is called "The Camel's Kneel."
