Shyngyrau (Version VIII)
A sparrow brings an egg it found in the wilderness and adds it to its two eggs. It incubates all three eggs equally, and when the time comes, three chicks hatch. From the egg that was found, a chick different from its own emerges.
The sparrow thinks, "It's a red-headed one, let's see how it grows," and while wandering around, one day it goes out in search of food and returns to find one of its chicks covered in white fluff in a scuffle. Upon closer inspection, it sees that the beak of the strange chick is bloodied. However, still not believing it, when it comes back another time, it finds the second chick also in a scuffle, having been eaten. It then attacks the sparrow itself.
It turns out that it is the chick of a hawk. Thus, the sparrow laments the loss of its two chicks and regrets having raised its mortal enemy, leading to the creation of a lament called "Shyngyrau," according to one of the legends.
