Emil Wave
Once upon a time, people used to cross the frozen Black Irtysh River to winter on the other side. A group of people led by Babakan Bi, following ancient customs, decided to cross the ice. Babakan, along with several others, crossed to the other side of the ice, dismounted from their horses, and stood in awe, gazing at the ice. As the migrating people approached the middle of the ice, it cracked, and one group fell beneath the ice.
Babakan was 80 years old and had ten children. He also had several households among his children. They all fell completely under the ice. Although others urged Babakan Bi to stop, he was consumed by sorrow, thinking of his people and his family. Upon hearing this news, Kairakbay played a tune on his flute and spoke to Babakan:
- "The bending of the elm is like its breaking; you are an elm, you do not bend, you may break under sorrow, but the Emilian does not sway, it does not bend. Sorrow stirs a person, and a person must be resilient," he said.
Therefore, this tune was named "Emil's Wave."
