Princess
One year, Kenesary settled with his large army near the Bolat, Taiyaktan, Shunakh, Munly, and Kuly mountains on the edge of Betpakdala in the Arka region. These places were the habitats of the Shubyrtpal, Tarakty, and Tama tribes. That year, Kenesary sent his brother Nauryzbay with forty young men to the wealthy Tilyuakbak of the Little Horde to acquire livestock for his troops. Nauryzbay was in a fiery state, undeterred by fire and water. Moreover, he relied on his fierce brother. Therefore, he acted boldly, crossed the Ushburyl River, and drove away three herds of horses belonging to Tilyuakbak. At that time, Tilyuakbak had two grown sons, Ali and Musa, and a beautiful daughter named Kanshayim, who was wise and charming. Nauryzbay confronted Ali and Musa, who were chasing after their stolen livestock, and drove them away. Unable to bear the shame, Kanshayim mounted her horse and challenged Nauryzbay to a duel. Confident in his strength, Nauryzbay hesitated to raise his hand against the girl and instead engaged her in conversation. "You are not one to raise your hand in opposition, but one who opens your arms to become a beloved," said Nauryzbay. Kanshayim replied, "If you open your arms to embrace, I am equal to you, Nauryzbay! But you are not greater than the ancestral customs; do not be indifferent to the spirits in the face of dying livestock and perishing wealth!" That time, Nauryzbay was impressed by Kanshayim's wisdom and, with his heart swayed, drove the horses back to their pasture. Then he sent a messenger to Tilyuakbak to discuss a marriage proposal and ultimately returned with Kanshayim. Kanshayim settled in the area called Maitokken, located on the Betpakdala side of the Bolat, Taiyaktan, and Shunakh mountains. Kenesary held a grand celebration for the marriage of his only younger brother. Many livestock were slaughtered, and plenty of fat broth was spilled, leading this place to be later known as Maitokken. After the wedding of Nauryzbay was celebrated with great fanfare, a white yurt adorned with golden decorations was set up for the newlyweds. The people wished well for Nauryzbay and Kanshayim, sending them off with their right foot. It is customary for the people on a campaign to be alert and tidy. One day, Nauryzbay woke up early and went to inspect the troops. At that moment, Kenesary, who was outside, passed by the yurt and looked through the window. At that time, Kanshayim was bathing in a basin filled with water placed in the center of the yurt. Kenesary's face softened, and he turned away with a smile. Noticing her husband's unusual behavior, the chief wife asked, "What is this?" Kenesary replied, "I was worried about coming empty-handed for a mere sheepskin, but it turns out that Nauryzbay's bride is worth three herds of horses!" Upon hearing this, the superstitious chief wife exclaimed, "Oh my, your eyes were bad; will your gaze affect her? Spit, spit!" As she predicted, three days later, the beautiful Kanshayim suddenly passed away. To this day, people say that the gaze of Khan Kene fell upon the beautiful Kanshayim... ...This story, which young Iqylas listened to with great interest during his childhood, he later turned into a musical composition in his adulthood, naming it "Kanshayim." True to its name, the piece is incredibly delicate, soulful, and beautifully structured. Its simple yet poignant melodies quickly resonate with the listener's heart, easily memorized in a few moments, and even after the music ends, the beautiful melody lingers on. Especially in the parts played with a single string, it seems to imprint the thoughtful and melancholic figure of a beauty like Kanshayim into your mind.
