One day, Dairabay, who had been imprisoned due to the tyranny and oppression of Koben the rich, finds an opportunity to escape. To hide, he takes refuge in the thick reeds of the Korgalzhyn Lake. As he ventures deeper into the dense reeds, he stumbles upon a grebe's nest. Peering into the nest, he sees two or three yellow fluffy chicks opening their mouths. Dairabay, seeing this defenseless creature, kneels down in reverence to the place. The rustling reeds, the chirping of the chicks, the boundless vastness of the world, and the endless time that seems to stretch before him... As soon as the chicks are shaded, they open their mouths, waiting for food from their mother... Meanwhile, a hawk flutters in the sky, and a kestrel glides above. The chicks, expecting mercy from everything dark, could easily become prey to the hawk or the kestrel at any moment... So why did these chicks come into this bright, vast world?! What did they see?! What did they accomplish?! Dairabay compares his life to that of the yellow fluffy chicks in the nest. Looking at the helpless chicks with compassion, his soul fills with sorrow... Later, this scene, this feeling keeps returning to Dairabay's mind and eventually finds its way into the language of his song.
