In difficult times, one of the citizens who thought about the welfare of the people, considering various means, and never dismounted from his horse was the musician Dauitbai, son of Taudank. One year, in early spring, the henchmen of the Bogda government began to stir and alarm the people. In such a challenging moment, as Dauitbai the musician was heading to inform the people outside of Kobda with a companion, the river's red water began to flow, and the ice started to break. It was essential to deliver the message to the unsuspecting people. The wild nature of the Kobda River, which was swelling and roaring with each passing moment, seemed to hasten their urgency even more. Then Dauitbai said, “Hey, who would be merciful in such a situation!” and he urged his horse towards the river. His companion exclaimed, “Is there anyone dearer to me than Dauitbai!” and jumped in as well. Then the turbulent current of the Kobda, frothing with white foam, swept the two young men away. The horses they rode raised their chins and swam fiercely, struggling for their lives. However, the overwhelming force of the river, with its ice blocks, prevented them from reaching the opposite shore. Dauitbai's horse took in water a couple of times, and it seemed as if all strength had left him, his vision darkening... ...After a while, when he was losing consciousness and life seemed to be slipping away, something suddenly struck his shoulder. It turned out that his companion, who had reached the shore earlier, had thrown a rope. As the saying goes, “A fallen tree does not catch the wind,” with all his might, Dauitbai managed to grab the rope and safely reached the shore. That day, upon returning to the village and receiving the affection of his relatives, Dauitbai expressed the torment he had just experienced through his music. This composition became known among the people as "Arna."
