Zhengy Baba
The name given to his parents by the Zengi Baba at birth was Aikozha. Since he was a pitch-black man by nature, the people began to call him Zengi Ata. Anyone who does not know his four ancestors will have doubts about the takbir. That is, such a person is considered not to know how to say the takbir correctly. Zengi's father is Taskozha, his grandfather is Malekkozha, his great-grandfather is Mansurkozha (Mansur Ata), and his distant ancestor is Arystan Bap. Zengi Ata was said to have been a shepherd who gathered the herds of the people. He also had a large number of cattle of his own. The elder increased the breed of cows, grazing them in groups and multiplying them. At that time, a rather cantankerous man said: - Does Zengi always graze the cows? Let's also graze them. Let's also take our share from the people. Why don't you give them to others? - and he complained to the leader of the people. In the council of the Amiraldar, Zengi Baba gave the herd to the cantankerous man, saying: - Fine, you graze them. After that man started grazing the cows, within a week, misfortune struck. Then the cattle were afflicted by misfortune, scattering and fleeing, and the cantankerous man could not manage the herd. - No, this won't do, there is a spirit here. I won't graze them, - he reportedly returned them to Zengi. The fourth descendant of Arystan Bap, Zengi settled near the ancient Shash, now close to the city of Tashkent, and made that place his pasture. He would go out in the morning, drive the herd without looking ahead, and freely let them go; he would call out, "Osh, Osh!" and bring them back from faraway Kyrgyz land. The name of the city Osh is believed to have originated from this. The people understood that each type of livestock has its own deity and protector, and thus Zengi Baba has been preserved as the patron of cows.
