Temir's mother, Saqypzhamal, had a dream while she was pregnant with this child. In her dream, instead of a child, she gave birth to a snake. That snake grew before her eyes and turned into a dragon. First, it swallowed its own mother, and then it swallowed the ruler of Syrdarya at that time, Tokalaq. This dream was interpreted by a traveler old woman who happened to be a guest at the pregnant woman's home. The old woman betrayed her and told Tokalaq about the dream.
