Zhirenshe (First Story)
They say that whoever the khan is, Jirenche would always be by the khan's side, living and traveling together, becoming the khan's esteemed advisor and witty person. It is said that the khan would never leave Jirenche behind and would always take him along. When they traveled together, Jirenche had a habit: whenever the khan wanted to stay overnight in a village or have lunch, he would rush ahead to the house where the khan was to stay and say, "Ah, the khan is coming, I will stay, I will be a guest. Is there no khan in your house?" The homeowner would then reply, "In my house, apart from my wife and children, we have no other guests. Let the khan stay, let him be a guest!" Jirenche would then insist, "No, there is a khan in your house. A khan cannot stay in a house where another khan is present; two khans cannot coexist in the same house," and thus he would never allow the khan to stay in a house that had children.
