The third story
Whenever the Khan intended to set out on a journey, he would consult with Jirenche, asking, "What should we do about this? How will this be?" Regardless of how Jirenche advised, he would ultimately command him to act as he saw fit. One day, the Khan, in a hurry to embark on a journey, instructed his servants: – Quickly bring six red camels to harness to my chariot! – he commanded. The servants hurriedly brought the six red camels and positioned them near the door from which the Khan would depart. Then the Khan told his servants: – Go and call Jirenche to accompany me! – he said. The Khan's servants, not wasting any time, sent one of them running: – Hey, Jirenche, the Khan is about to set out on a journey and is calling for you to come along with him, – he said. Jirenche replied: – What does the Khan want? – he asked. The messenger replied: – He has prepared six magnificent red camels for the journey, – he said. Jirenche then responded: – Very well, I will come shortly. Please convey my greetings to the Khan; a day cannot be without clouds, and the Khan has no wings, – he said. The messenger returned to the Khan and reported: – Your Majesty, I went to Jirenche, conveyed your greetings, and he said he would come shortly, adding that a day cannot be without clouds and the Khan has no wings. – The Khan then jumped up and told his servants: – Quickly unharness the camels and bring forth the best horses to harness! – he commanded. The servants hurriedly brought the horses and harnessed them, preparing for the journey. Meanwhile, Jirenche arrived, and the two of them climbed into the chariot and set off with the horses. As they were traveling, by God's command, a dark cloud appeared from the direction of the Qibla and began to pour rain. The ground became muddy, and the noble horses struggled, cutting through the muck without much strength, just barely pulling the chariot along. At that moment, Jirenche remarked: – The horse is the king of livestock, and the camel is the chief of livestock, – he said. This statement likely reflects the difficulty of camels navigating through such mud and hardship.
