The nickname of Kazibek as "the one with the voice of a goose" (Version II)
There was a Kalmyk khan named Kentazy. There was a khan of the Middle Horde named Abilai. Kentazy attacked the Kazakh land twice during that time. He drove away the people and their livestock. Hearing that he was going to attack for the third time, they decided: "What shall we do? We do not have the strength to fight. Let's send an envoy and ask for equality." The khan had ten wise ministers. Each minister, including himself, gathered one hundred people, and they decided to send one hundred envoys. During those days, a horse herder named Keldibek used to say: - "Among these mares, there is either a stone or a stallion. If a male is born, you should slaughter one of the milking mares and eat it, and attribute it to that," he said. One day, Keldibek came home and found his son playing. He called his son: - "Abilai khan is about to send someone to Kentazy. There are ninety-nine people, and we are one short. How do you feel about going?" he asked. - "Playing with the children is indeed a fun time. However, I will go with the elders, travel, and learn the way," the son agreed. The foal that was nurtured became known as Telqonyr. The son rode the foal to the khan. As the khan was sending off the envoys, the foal under the boy played, spraying white foam. The khan called the boy: - "Will you be a leader of this group, or will you be a follower?" he asked. The boy replied: - "I will be a follower." Abilai khan instructed the envoys: - "This boy will accompany you; when you gather, do not disregard him just because he is a child, do not leave him behind," he ordered. One hundred people arrived in Kentazy's land. After arriving in the khan's land, they needed to send a message. The boy stood up: - "I will go," he said. The boy went to deliver the message to the khan. The khan told his ministers: - "Divide the envoys into groups of ten or twenty and drop them off in different places." The boy said: - "You did not give my person a place from one spot. I will take care of the horses; give my horses a place from one spot," he said. A stable was provided for the horses. The khan remarked: - "What is this child who has sent off the foal? Is he mocking us? What if he kills the people and sends their horses to the herd?" Then the queen said: - "Do not let the foal be a stallion, nor the child be a falcon. Preserve your kingdom." The examiner tested the ninety-nine people but found nothing. "Now let me test the horses," he thought and went to the stable. When he arrived at the stable, he found the boy sleeping on his back, with his arms and legs spread out. As he breathed, a yellow-headed snake was entering and exiting his mouth. The examiner was startled and reported to the khan: - "There is a boy lying in the stable. He says, 'As far as my mouth can speak, I will speak; as far as my hands can reach, I will wave; as far as my feet can go, I will walk,'" he said. The khan did not pay attention to this. One day, the khan gathered the envoys and asked for their service. The envoys were confused and frightened, unable to respond. Then the boy, standing at the threshold, said: - "Why do you not speak? What is the khan better than the khan? What is the opposition better than the opposition? What is one nation better than another? Freedom is better," he said. Then the khan said: - "Hey, who is this child who is chirping like a flute and singing like a nightingale?" The boy then stood up: - "My name is Qazybek, My father's name is Keldibek. My tribe is Karakesek. I am an envoy of Abilai khan. You have attacked once, you have attacked twice, Now I have come to ask for equality. If you give, I will take from your hand; if you do not give, I will take from your path," he said. At that moment, the khan trembled. He took the boy by the armpit: - "Come up to the front," he said. The boy replied: - "While the elders are standing, we, the younger ones, do not go to the front." The khan told his ministers: - "I have never given gifts or spoils in my life. I will give each of them a gift. I will give back the living things I have conquered, along with their livestock," he said. - "What are you so afraid of from the boy?" asked the ministers. The khan replied: "On the boy's shoulders, there are two bears looking at me saying, 'Do not move!' I will give the boy the title of Qazybek, for his voice is said to be like that of a goose," he said. As the khan was sending off the envoys, when they reached a place to greet, a young man who had just come from the fields approached the khan: - "When I arrived, I came with a good horse and good clothes. Not only did they take my horse and clothes, but they also broke thirty of my teeth," he said. The khan replied: - "A horse is the offspring of one horse, and clothing is the skin of one lamb. If the head is split, it is within the hat; if the hand is injured, it is within the sleeve," he said. Then Qazybek stood up: - "Teeth are not just bones of a person, a horse is not just the wings of a person, and a coat is not just the clothing of a person; give him equality!" he said. The khan gave him his horse, his coat, and his sword.
