The Blessing of Tole Bi to Otegen
Hearing that Otegen has returned safely, the good people and the holy ones of every tribe gather together. Tole Bi's spirits are lifted, and he sacrifices a white stallion in honor of Otegen's safe return to his homeland, who was thought to be dead. He himself is also uplifted and listens attentively to his brother's words. Since the day he left the land, he recounts where he has been, which countries he has traveled, detailing everything. Some of those listening to Otegen's words gasp in disbelief, exclaiming "Astapyralla!" Some have tears in their eyes, and their bones feel weak. Tole Bi, who is engrossed in the story, recalls his original words about seeking a suitable place for the Great Zhuz: – Do you have a place found for your grieving people? Is there a land that will open its arms to you? How many years has it been since you left, will God grant us good fortune? If the Chinese swarm from the east, and the Kalmyks find no rest, if Bukhara, Kokand, and Khiva sharpen their swords and do not rest for a year, what will become of my people? Will my country be torn apart by dividing the three hundred? If my back is broken, from whom shall I seek revenge? O thick people, have you found your land, tell me? – and he leans back, resting on a pillow. Then Otegen, wanting to honor his esteemed brother's feelings, decides to speak the truth rather than dance around it, and says: – I am your sacrifice, Tole Bi! Where is there land like Alatau? Under the sky and on the earth, Where is there a generous nation like the Kazakhs? – he said. "Let us go to the battlefield for our ancestral land of Alatau and Zhetysu, and take our revenge from the enemy. Let us drive them away from our sacred land that we have possessed since ancient times. Now we only need the edge of the sword, the tip of the spear, and the strength of the club!" – Tole Bi raises his hand slightly to those who are murmuring: – I understand, my dear Otegen! I have shed blood to take Tashkent from the enemy's eyes. "If six are together, the one in your mouth will go." Tashkent, Shymkent, Kumkent, Turkestan, Babata, Sayram, Auliye Ata, Almalyk, Merki, Sozak, Zhetysu all belong to you up to Altyn Emel. A tree must grow in one place. If you want to be a nation, you must think of the ancient Moghulstan, and beyond that, the statehood and kingship of your ancestors, the Uysins. May God grant you the banner of freedom! – and he blesses Otegen. After those present say "Aumin" in response to the blessing, Otegen says: – Giving the heavenly land of Zhetysu to the thick Kalmyks means I have died without living. Losing my ancestral land means I have been torn from my very essence. Making my own land feel like a stepmother, making it weep – I have turned away from my honor and my faith. Seeking land and pasture from a foreign nation means I have not felt the plight of the peoples of the world. Now, like my ancestor Asanqaygy, I will not sell my eyes for "Zheruyik"! I do not speak my oath in vain! If I have spoken, may the spirits help me, I will not turn back from my words! I will sharpen my steel spear and prepare it. I will train my horse. Taking the white sword in hand, loading the flintlock rifle, gripping the club tightly, I will rush with my people into the vast land of Zhetysu! Tole Bi knew from a young age that Otegen the hero would not turn back from his chosen path. Nodding his head: – Do not disturb the bones of the ancestors In their graves, Do not make the spirits weep, Free the land and people from the enemy, May God support you! – he gives his blessing once more and wishes for a good path. The heroes and valiant warriors led by Otegen then set out on a campaign, not sparing their lives or a drop of blood to break the enemy's defenses.
