Myngbay grew up as a resourceful child and earned the title of "brave boy." When he went hunting, he showed courage and became known as the "sharpshooter boy." No matter how wild the horse or colt he rode, he never fell off. Myngbay was also strong enough to lift a person who approached him by the collar and carry them away while sitting on his horse. Myngbay the warrior was a contemporary of Syrym batyr and Suinqar. Together, they drove the Kalmyks from the Edil-Zhayyk region to the Mangystau and Atyrau peninsulas, pushing them beyond Astrakhan. The poet Murat Mongkeuly sang: In the name of Allah, let me begin, O Jappar God, My essence is from the soil, my body is like water. If the gun does not fire, if the sword does not strike, Myngbay the warrior has passed through Talashy... One day, while Myngbay was tired and thirsty from a long journey, he stumbled upon a solitary white yurt. Inside, a young girl was sitting. Her parents had gone to a wedding in the nearby village. The girl was afraid of the stranger. Noticing her fear, Myngbay the warrior said, "My dear, do not be afraid of me. I am not a harmful person." The girl brewed tea for him. Myngbay took the bow hanging from the top of the yurt, tried it a couple of times, and then hung it back in its place. The girl went out and told her parents, who had returned from the wedding, that there was a guest in the house and that he had tried the bow. The host got to know Myngbay the warrior and hosted him for three days. When he was leaving, the host had Myngbay mount a horse and gave him the bow as well.
