The owner of the land is the spirit of the land (Option I)
Töle bi's nephew, Eskeldi, goes to his uncle's village when he is about sixteen or eighteen years old. At that time, the young man who was later called "Sabalak" was herding camels. While everyone was gathered together, Sabalak looked at Töle bi and said:
– Great bi, it seems that my time to set out against the Kalmyks has come. Please give me your blessing.
Then Töle bi replied:
– I knew that a strong sword should not lie in its scabbard. May your path be blessed, go ahead!
As Sabalak was leaving, Eskeldi stopped him and said:
– Hero, remember these things, – as he raised his cap above his head and struck it twice, he took off his belt and lifted it high, then stuck out his tongue and waved his hand. Sabalak nodded and left. Although Sabalak attacked the enemy unexpectedly and repelled them, he could not capture their fortress. The morale of the large army fell, and they showed signs of retreat. Then Abilai said:
– The young man sitting next to Töle bi gave me some advice, if we follow it, we can capture this fortress.
– What advice is that?
– "The Kalmyk's fortress is strong. You may not capture it the first time, but attack a second time. Don't just charge; raise your belt as a flag and shout 'Abilai!' as you charge!" He also showed his tongue, meaning "the fortress will be taken, but control your tongue, do not insult anyone." The Kazakhs and Kalmyks were originally one kin. He warned, "There will be a master of the people and a guardian of the land, be careful with your words."
After saying this, Sabalak raised his belt as a flag and shouted "Abilai!" He charged again, catching the Kalmyk enemy off guard, and they opened the gates of the fortress. From then on, Sabalak (Abilmansur) was called Abilai and later became a khan, while Eskeldi bi became the chief minister...
