One day, Maqtım Aghzam had a dream. In his dream, his ancestor Khoja Akhmet Yasawi appeared to him and said: "Your only granddaughter will be blessed with sainthood, and fortune will come to her. Whoever holds her wrist, marry her to that person! They will be very happy." When he woke up, he realized it was a dream. "Yes, O God, may the Prophet interpret this dream, and may my daughter Nurlila be made happy, amen!" he prayed. At that time, Nurlila was eight years old and was attending lessons at the mosque. Years passed. When Nurlila turned fourteen, an incident occurred: one day, Nurlila went to fetch water from the well. At that time, water was drawn using a camel neck bucket. Nurlila untied the pulley and let the bucket down into the well. As she turned the handle, pulling the water-filled bucket towards her, the pulley came loose, and the bucket along with her plunged to the bottom of the deep well. The children playing nearby saw this and reported it to the village. Before anyone else, Baidibek ran to the well and leaned over to look inside, and he saw the girl floating on the water, holding onto the bucket. "Nurlila, hold on tightly to the bucket, and I will pull you out!" he shouted and began to turn the pulley. When the girl reached the edge of the well, Baidibek grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her out. He wrapped the shapan around the shivering girl, who was freezing in the icy water, and carried her like a child to her grandfather's house. Her grandmother Zukhra was worried and gave her hot milk to warm her up. The next day, Maqtım's grandfather came from Turkistan. "My dear, how did Baidibek the hero pull you out of the well?" he asked. "He said, 'Hold on tightly to the bucket!' I held on. When I got closer to the edge of the well, he grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me out. He wrapped me in his shapan and brought me home." "Then we will marry you to that hero. I told you, I had a dream. In my dream, my ancestor Khoja Akhmet said: 'Whoever holds your granddaughter's wrist, give her to him; they will be blessed with children and happiness.'" Just as that saintly ancestor had revealed, the following year, Nurlila married Baidibek. The wedding festivities lasted for several days.
