The Lame Ears (Version I)
Once upon a time, there was a horse with long ears. To increase the breed of this horse, someone took a mare and brought them to an uninhabited island in the middle of the sea. The horse would not let anyone, neither wolves nor humans, approach.
After several years, the horse's hooves multiplied, reaching a herd of horses. Upon hearing news of the horse on the island, thieves decided to go and capture the mare with the herd. From the very beginning, the horse had a wild temperament, and having not seen humans for many years, it immediately attacked the thieves upon seeing them. It bit those who came in front and kicked those who came from behind, not allowing the thieves to pass. Exhausted from struggling with the stallion, the thieves realized they could not overpower it and reluctantly shot the horse with a bow. The arrow hit the horse's leg, causing it to limp. The wounded horse, now even more furious, set out to attack the thieves. The weakened bandits tried to escape by jumping into a pit. Seeing this, the enraged horse led a herd of its offspring and trampled over the thieves, crushing them. Thus, the horse and its herd defeated the enemies and lived a peaceful life, or so they say.
