Kurmanzha arrives at the edge of the village on foot but hesitates to go to his own village and instead goes to the house of his friend Zhalel. Zhalel welcomes Kurmanzha with open arms. However, when the musician inquires about the well-being of Zhalel's family, he senses a slight unease in Zhalel's conversation. As the saying goes, "A critic travels the land," this unease catches Kurmanzha's keen eye. Right there, Kurmanzha stands up and says, "There’s something unspoken at the bottom of your story. What are you hiding? Something has happened at our house." Zhalel hesitates for a while and eventually recounts the events in order. He tells that Kurmanzha's father, Sagyrbay, passed away two months ago, and that three days ago, soldiers came from Orenburg and took away Aues and his nursing child Qazy in place of the escaped musician, calling him a "zaleke."
Kurmanzha sits for a long time, unable to lift his head, and sighs deeply. He laments that the burden has not lifted from his head. However, as the saying goes, "The depths of worry are like the sea; you drown and disappear, but the depths of risk are like a boat; you ride and pass through," after barely finishing the food that went down his throat, he comes to a decisive conclusion. He tells his decision to his friend and leaves that night to express his condolences to his mother, to inform her of his safe arrival, and to share his decision with her. Alka, grieving for her son, laments deeply that despite being strong, she is now left alone from a whole family in a moment. However, upon seeing her beloved son Kurmanzha, her heart is somewhat comforted, and she approves of her son's plan to chase after Aues. She only wishes that Kurmanzha does not touch anyone anymore and that if any other danger arises, he should not confront anyone. All the joys and sorrows of life, his happiness and grief, come out through his music, and Kurmanzha, whose heart finds peace somewhere, takes his spiritual companion, the dombra, and reflects. He plays a tune in memory of his father's death and for his mother Alka, who is left grieving. This tune later becomes known among the people as "Alka."
