Traveler
Bäzğalam's father, Aıqınbay, along with his relative Qajıke the mullah, was not satisfied with the religious lessons taught by the youngest son, Ergenbay. In 1919, he decided to seek further religious education from a more learned scholar and went to the Dörbıljin district, where he inquired and found a Uyghur mullah named Müsıynbay, to whom he became an apprentice. While he was studying, a group of merchants arrived from Turpan. Ergenbay learned from them that there was a large madrasa called "Seven Saints" in Turpan, and after negotiating with his master, he set off with them to study at that madrasa. Concerned that his relatives would not let him go, he wrote a letter to his brother Erdan, informing him that he was heading to Turpan in search of education after having left his homeland. Three years later, he wrote another letter to inform that he had completed his studies and remained there as a teacher. The leader of the Ötep tribe, Laq, learned of this and mentioned it at a gathering of notable people. The elders of the Uaq tribe, led by the elder Temirkhan, sent Ergenbay's brother, the mullah Erdan, to bring him back home. He set off in March and reached Turpan in three to five days. His younger brother had changed his name to Omar Qari and had gotten married. After pleading with a man named Niyaz, who managed the madrasa, he managed to separate him from his wife and brought him back. On the way, when they reached the Sawan district, they encountered the hero Nurpay. Upon recognizing them, the hero gave each of them a horse to ride back. They arrived at the house of Bäzğalam, a distant relative, who was sewing boots and doing weaving in the yard of a wealthy village called Raqadıl in the Shögey region. During their conversation, Bäzğalam said, "Among our relatives, there are no travelers who have taken such a long and sacred journey as you two, so I have been thinking of a particular tune for a long time," and he played the "Traveler" tune especially for them.
