Kozbaskan (Version II)
Mukey and Zhayir, while on a journey, end up attending a wealthy man's wedding. They keep their names secret and enter the youth gathering taking place in the yurt.
They see some of the young people playing Mukey's "Telqonyr" tune incorrectly, so he asks to borrow the dombra and plays it correctly, saying, "This is how I know this tune." At the request of their peers, the musician continues to perform several more tunes. The lively dombra music catches the attention of the elders, and the host invites them to the yurt where the village elders are sitting to play music.
Among the group, a merchant who is older than the others remembers that Mukey had stayed overnight in their village and recognizes him:
– Oh, my brother, you are that traveler and musician Mukey! Is your village well? – he greets him warmly. Mukey reluctantly acknowledges being recognized by the merchant. The host honors Mukey as a guest. The next day, before departing, the village elders advise Mukey:
– You are a talented man of the people, and everyone is pleased with you. We have heard your name from afar, and today we have seen you with our own eyes. You also have the talent to chase horses while traveling, which we admire. Do not let your two feet stray; push your front talent forward and leave the last one behind, – they say, wrapping him in a cloak and sending him off with good wishes. After this, Mukey decides to heed the wishes of the people and gives up his journey. Upon returning to his homeland, he composes the tune "Qos Basqan."
