Maiky Bi
Forty are the numbers of the Korym, thirty are the numbers of Urym, ten are the numbers of Oymauyt, nine are the numbers of Torgauyt, and when the ten Nogai were divided, Ormanbet bi died, and the Nogai people were frightened, thinking that an enemy was coming like a frightened foal. At that time, there were three brothers named Koban, Qogham, and Maiqy. Maiqy was the one who had placed nine khans on the throne. One of the forty khans who came from Crimea to the city of Bukhara, Qyzyl Arystan, had no children from his great wife, but a son was born from a captive girl whom the khan had taken as a concubine, and the boy's body was mottled like a magpie. The first wife, out of jealousy, said to the khan: "Do not think of this as my son, blind his eyes. If you don't, he will eventually ruin your people like a foal when he grows up," she said. Following his first wife's words, Qyzyl Arystan separated forty young men from his soldiers and told their leader: "Take this boy and his mother across the Syr Darya, let them die if they die, or let them live on their own. Neither the mother nor the child shall return to this land, and you will also be free," he said. The forty young men crossed the Syr Darya and hunted in the regions of Karatau and Alatau until the boy grew up, and when the boy reached the age of twelve, they abandoned him in one place. While hunting, the boy encountered the son of Maiqy bi, Uysin. Uysin came home and told his father what he had seen in the steppe. "I saw a boy sitting under a tree, with a mouth like the moon and eyes like the sun, captivating anyone who saw him, as if they had swallowed him with a spoon. The only flaw is that he has no tongue," he said. Maiqy had a lame leg. He had spent his whole life in a cart and had someone lead his cart. "Take me to the boy, I want to speak with him," said Maiqy. The boy, who had not followed Uysin and had not even spoken, jumped up as soon as he saw Maiqy and greeted him: "Assalamu alaikum, the pillar of all khans, the sustenance of the people of Bukhara," he said. "Wa alaikum assalam, my son. May you be safe. You are a boy who is meant to be, but you are lacking because there is no one to raise you. Come, get in the cart," Maiqy said, seating the boy next to him and taking him home. He performed the ritual of cutting the middle joint and made the boy his adopted son, slaughtered a mare, invited the upper people, and held a grand feast. When the boy grew up, he sent him on his way with a hundred young men led by his own son Uysin, saying: "Cross over Karatau and continue on, you will encounter the mountains of Ulytau and Kishi tau, and the rivers of Karakengir and Sarykengir. Go there, hunt, and settle down, think of becoming a people with the tip of the white spear and the strength of the white arm. One day this boy will become a khan, and you will become his warriors. If the khan is wise and just, and his subjects are united and brave, they will draw water from the earth and sail ships," Maiqy blessed them. The hundred young men crossed over Karatau, passed through the rivers of Shu and Sarysu, and reached the places Maiqy had mentioned. They broke the sleep, took horses, broke the carts, and took wives. Thus, they began to become a people, and their fame reached Qyzyl Arystan. "How is it that my son has been sent away with a bunch of young men? Let him take what he desires and return my son to me!" the khan sent messengers to Maiqy. "Go and call him back," Maiqy said, sending the second hundred young men led by Qobanuly Bolatqozha after the first hundred. But they also did not return and stayed there. After Qyzyl Arystan kept insisting, Maiqy sent the third hundred young men led by Qoghamuly Alshyn, adding eleven elders to be leaders and advisors to the young men. But they also did not return. Thus, Maiqy bi, while staying at home, accomplished great deeds and laid the foundation of the Kazakh khanate. After the three hundred young men brought livestock from afar and took wives without a bride price, they decided to announce that they had become a people by seating Qyzyl Arystan's son on a felt mat and raising him as a khan at the top of Ulytau, naming him Alasha khan.
