The legend-story about Abat Batyr
Zhaksyqylish and Zhamanqylish are said to be the sons of Khan Shora. Tursynbikе is said to be the daughter of Asan Qaygy and the sister of Abat. The two brothers, Zhaksyqylish and Zhamanqylish, the sons of Khan Shora, fell in love with Tursynbikе. Because the two sides were a vast sea, the lovers could not meet each other. The two young men rode along the shore, traveling day and night. Tursynbikе tied a bundle of reeds and lit a lamp in the middle of the water to signal, and it is said she entered the water. The wind carried the bundle downstream. Zhamanqylish and Zhaksyqylish's horses could not go deep into the water and could not meet Tursynbikе on the bundle. The wind carried the bundle to the foot of the mountain, where it stopped. Alone, Tursynbikе, shivering in the autumn cold, died on the bundle. Zhamanqylish swore to meet Tursynbikе, but as he approached, he could not cross the water and fell into the depths, drowning. Zhaksyqylish also did not turn back, urging his horse along the western shore, and he too drowned.
Abat the warrior, sensing that his sister Tursynbikе had come to such a fate, mounted his horse, dipped his spear into the water, and rode along the high banks, crossing from ford to ford. When he reached the foot of the mountain, he found the bundle turned over, with his sister Tursynbikе dead on it. Abat the warrior, having come to this realization, could not find a way to take Tursynbikе back to the village. He buried his sister on that mountain, which became known as "Tursynbikе Mountain."
Now, as Abat the warrior rode along the western shore, leading his horse through the water, he saw a young man dead at the foot of the mountain. Abat the warrior buried the corpse and named it "Zhamanqylish Hill."
Exhausted, Abat the warrior, having traveled day and night over the water, began to return home. He dipped his spear into the water, crossing shallow areas and resting in deeper parts. As he approached the mountain, just as he was about to reach dry land, he stumbled upon the body of a handsome young man at the foot of the mountain. Abat the warrior carried him and buried him at the top of the mountain, which he named "Zhaksyqylish Mountain." These three lovers, unable to meet each other, wandered through the vast sea, ultimately perishing in the autumn cold in the middle of the water.
