Kazybek's third journey to the Kalmyk land
As soon as he returned from this peace, Kazibek moved his people to Saryarka, making this place their ancestral homeland. However, he had not yet completed the relocation of the last part of his people, and also a part of the Little Horde that sympathized with Kazibek was attacked again by Kontaji. A messenger came from the attacked people to Kazibek. Thus, Kazibek set out again towards the Kalmyks. This time, the bi (chief) made a solemn promise to Kontaji, vowing to ensure that such raids would not happen again, or to leave for good without any reconciliation.
As the saying goes, "Wherever you see, there is a relative," when he approached Kontaji's yurt, a younger girl standing at the crossing asked Kazibek where he was going. Kazibek told the girl that he was going as an envoy to Khan Kontaji. The girl replied to him:
– If you are an envoy, you must be Kazibek of the Kazakhs; if your mission is successful, you will remember me too.
Kazibek entered Kontaji's yurt and said:
– Oh, Khan, you have not ceased to raid the people, and I have not refrained from coming as an envoy.
Kontaji responded:
– Kazibek bi, you speak rightly. I heard your words when you were just fourteen years old, unflinching, and thought, "Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a descendant from this?" That’s why I summoned your son Kazymbet. But you came and said, "I will not make peace until my husband returns!" What, did you not cut off your tongue to leave us? After that, you distanced yourself from me and moved away. To bring you back, I attacked your people who were left behind. The truth of the matter is that I am eager to befriend you.
– They say, "A dispute is settled by a girl, and a river is settled by a stream." Therefore, either take a girl or give a girl. If you give a girl, I will take her, – he says.
The Khan asks Kazibek:
– How many sons do you have?
Kazibek replies:
– I have one and a half sons.
The Khan, surprised, says:
– How can you have one and a half? I had heard that you have five grown sons.
The bi responds:
– I have only one son who will inherit the land, his name is Bekbolat. I have one son to face the enemy, his name is Syrymbet. I counted him as half. As for the three who will only inherit livestock and wives, I do not consider them, – he said, looking at Kontaji.
Kontaji requested to marry his daughter to Bekbolat. Thus, it is said that the raiding did not stop. During this journey, Kazibek also brought along the young girl he met on the way to the Khan's yurt and entrusted her to Bekbolat, saying, "Raise her."
