Land Distribution
Having moved from the Syr Darya region to their ancient homeland along the Balkhash, the children of Baishegir, Aryk, and Tynym, fearing the Kalmyks and adhering to the saying "Where danger comes from, there is danger," decided to migrate back to the Syr Darya. This was opposed by Mightybek Bi, the father of the hero Bakai, but the frightened people did not listen to him and left. Mightybek remained with the seven households that followed him, alongside the prominent figure of the Jalayir, Balpyk Bi. As he began to miss the people who had left, he had a dream. In his dream, he saw the eight-year-old Tileugul, now eighteen, holding a spear with a tassel, leading his people and coming back. The dream, interpreted as good, eventually turned into joy. Tileugul truly became a hero, arriving at his ancestral land and raising his banner. When his relatives, weary and hungry, finally arrived from afar, the elders of the people, including the revered figures of the Jalayir at that time—Kabylysa, Zholbarys, Eskeldi, Balpyk, and Karymbai—came out to greet him, saying, "May your migration be prosperous." Bapekeen was always a man of bold action and swift decisions. Accordingly, he also had a tendency to be somewhat oblivious. When he was giving advice and counsel, he often did not pay attention to the actions of those around him. The conversation between Mightybek and Tileugul immediately turns to the matter of settling down. Thus, the discussion that began in the village of a wealthy man named Kudukey continues on horseback. Before mounting, Tileugul turned back three times, gazing intently at the sandy hollows of the tiger's back. Only Kabylysa the saint noticed this. The horsemen, galloping, soon reached the head of Balikty. Gazing at the lush green and fertile surroundings, Balpyk Bi said: - "Unless the snow falls thicker, this is indeed a favorable place for the people. Will you plant your staff here, Tileugul?" Tileugul shook his head. Then they crossed Sardongal and forded the Karatal. They reached the foothills of Sarnokai. Pointing to the green hills blooming like a carpet, Bapekeen remarked: - "You are not exerting yourself, but this valley is full of springs, and the waterholes are like troughs. Whether you raise cows in herds or camels, you will not be disappointed; perhaps you will inherit this area, Tileugul?" Tileugul shook his head again. - "Why don't you take it?" Bapekeen raised his voice slightly. As if to say "Patience, patience!" Zholbarys the saint coughed a couple of times. Meanwhile, Kabylysa the saint chuckled and said: - "Oh, Balpyk, didn’t you notice that this Baishegir would not settle anywhere other than 'Three Cages' by the Balkhash when you set out from Kudukey's village?" Startled, Balpyk asked: - "What should we do then?" - "Did he not look back three times before mounting?" - "If he looked, he must have seen something; what’s the matter?" replied Bapekeen. - "Tileugul is a wise young man who thinks about the future. By looking back three times, he signaled: 'Brothers, you have come here on horseback; let me follow you. But if you grant us this blessed land with a mild winter, it will be enough for us,'" said Kabylysa. - "Why does this Baishegir not lie down in the open, avoiding mosquitoes and mud?" Bapekeen pressed the issue again. Only then did Tileugul say: - "It seems to me that there will still be much fighting ahead. We Baishegirs are but a small people, as the saying goes, 'thirty houses are a burden, forty houses are a crowd'; I fear we might be wiped out." - "What is he saying?" Bapekeen asked his companions. Zholbarys was a man of few words. He indicated with a warm expression that "Tileugul is right!" Meanwhile, Kabylysa the saint said: - "That is true; Tileugul is insightful and foresees the future. It is not us, but our descendants who will face the trials ahead, and they will witness the fall of the royal throne and the bloodshed. Tileugul is saying that if the Baishegir lineage stays away from the sand, it would be better for their growth." Bapekeen, who had never spoken out of turn to his elders, finally calmed down and said: - "You all seem to have come to a consensus and thought about the future; may God grant you prosperity. And Tileugul: - "May your settlement be blessed, Your livestock be fruitful, Your children be united. May God guide you, and fortune support you, May your people prosper, and may you be blessed. May your bellies be full, May your sorrows be absent, May the spirit of your ancestors bring peace, Ameen!" Thus, he divided the lower Karatal and Balkhash among the Baishegir, Aryk, and Tynym.
