The blue horse of Kozhamkul
The lineage of Azhybay's blue bay stallion has been inherited by his descendants. The blue bay foal, which was a gift to his grandson Kozhamkul, did not lose a race for twenty-two years.
In the final twenty-second year, it participated in a big race during a gathering of Kazakhs and Kyrgyz for the last time. The Kyrgyz judge who came to the feast said, "Kozhamkul's blue bay horse will return from the race, and when it returns, it will die." Just as he said, the blue bay horse came in first in the race. Azhybay's spirit was once again a rallying cry that day. When Kozhamkul led the old stallion back from the race and reached the Jinishke's shatana, the horse became exhausted and could not walk. The young men tied their belts together, lifted the horse, and carried it to the top of the mountain. However, the horse still could not walk. They left it there covered.
In the evening, when they sent a person to check, the horse was found missing. When they went back in the morning, they discovered that a wolf had torn it apart, leaving its head intact and its tail stuck in the ground.
With tears in his eyes, Kozhamkul said:
- "The lineage of my ancestor Azhybay, you did not lose a race for 22 years. May your head not become prey for dogs and wolves," and he hung its head on the top of a fir tree. The head has grown into a tall fir tree, and it still stands at the top of that old tree. It is said that those who enter horses in races pray to it.
