The son of Zhirensha (Version II)
Jiren's son is very gentle. Khan Az Zhanibek asked Jiren the Wise:
– Can a good person give birth to a bad one? – he inquired. Jiren replied:
– A good person does not give birth to a bad one. – Zhanibek Khan pondered, "What does this mean?" After many years, when Khan Az Zhanibek was preparing to lead the people against the Kalmyks, he sent word to Jiren's son to join him. Since Jiren's son did not have a horse with a gentle temperament, his father said: "If you don't have a horse with a gentle temperament, ride a spirited horse that has not yet revealed its secrets," and he asked the Khan for a spirited horse to ride into battle together. In the battle, the Kalmyk side gained the upper hand, and Az Zhanibek's army fled in disarray towards their homeland. As Jiren's son was fleeing alongside the Khan, the Khan's horse became exhausted and was in danger of being captured. Then Jiren's son said:
– Your Majesty, please give me your exhausted horse; I will lead my horse back. – Az Zhanibek replied:
– Isn't it said that everyone values their own life? Wouldn't it be better for you to escape rather than give me your horse? – Jiren's son responded:
– Even if I am captured, it is nothing. If you are captured, it would leave an indelible mark on the reputation of the Kazakhs, saying, "The Khan of the Kazakhs went to fight the Kalmyks, but his people fled, leaving their Khan behind." – Az Zhanibek mounted Jiren's son's horse and escaped safely from the enemy. After a day or two, Jiren's son also arrived safely on the exhausted horse. Once he arrived, the Khan believed in the truth of Jiren's words: "A good person does not give birth to a bad one." "I used to see Jiren's son as gentle, but what Jiren said turned out to be true," he said, and appointed Jiren's son as his chief minister.

Will not cease to flow into the sea.
A son born of a good father
No matter how bad you say he is,
Will not stray from his roots.
